Carly Bathan, Senior Associate, joined Robert A.M. Stern Architects in 2014. She has contributed to the design of cultural and institutional projects including the Museum of the American Revolution in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; the General Assembly Building for the Commonwealth of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia; the Downtown Library Campus for the St. Joseph County Public Library in South Bend, Indiana; the Cox School of Business at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas; a new theater for The Loomis Chaffee School in Windsor, Connecticut; Residence Hall and Benton Hall Career Services Building, both at Colgate University in Hamilton, New York; the Bill and Mary Ann Becker Business Building for the Barney Barnett School of Business and Free Enterprise at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida; and a strategic plan for the Birmingham Public Library in Birmingham, Alabama.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Bathan worked with Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
Ms. Bathan's work has been published in Landscape Architecture Magazine, GSD Platform 7, GSD Platform 8, and Common Frameworks: Rethinking the Developmental City in China (Cambridge: Harvard University Press, 2016).
Ms. Bathan received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from Syracuse University and her Master of Architecture degree with distinction from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. At Harvard she received the Outstanding Housing Research and Design Prize from the Joint Center for Housing Studies and a 2015 ASLA Student Award from the American Society of Landscape Architects for her research on the rural urbanization of China. She is a registered architect in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
