Financial Business Analyst

Position Summary

The purpose of the Financial Business Analyst position is to assist the CFO in ensuring project information is accurately recorded and planned correctly for future work efforts.

Provides information to project managers to ensure that projects are appropriately staffed and to assist in the preparation of fees for potential projects.

Additionally, the analyst focuses on streamlining information (either business or financial related) to Partners, staffing coordinators, department directors, and project managers.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Create, run, and analyze reports and models using a variety of techniques ranging from simple data compilation and aggregation to forecasting
  • Ensures NPA/Planifi is accurate, financials are tracking in line with budgeting plans, and updated in terms of project staffing, project planning, non-reimbursable planning/budgeting, time is correctly logged in the appropriate phase, and other facets to keep accurate data for project planning
  • Analyze office, studio, and individual project performance
  • Produce executive summaries and reports for various data sets
  • Assist the CFO in other ad-hoc financial analysis/business intelligence related queries
  • Assists Partners, Staffing Coordinators, and Project Managers with project planning, staffing planning, fee proposals, and other financial/business related activities
  • Attend bi-weekly PM Reviews in support of the CFO while creating and distributing a meeting time schedule
  • Trains and educates PMs about NPA
  • Manages internal billing between architecture, interiors, and landscape
  • Creates new projects (pending projects included) and phases in the Accounting system
  • Ensures timesheets are submitted accurately and on time sending out weekly and daily updates to delinquent employees
  • Manage and updates the RAMSA Active Projects List
  • Reconciles project accounts between the contract fees in NPA with the contract fees listed in Deltek
  • Transfers time to the correct project number, phase, and labor code when submitted incorrectly
  • Assists Marketing and Operations with information and data reports which may not be commonly known
  • Sends out PTO summaries to staffing coordinators to ensure PTO requests are sent before an employee goes on vacation
  • Updates and manages security settings for new employees and newly appointed project managers

 

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in statistics, finance, or economics
  • Experience with Deltek Vision required
  • Experience with Planifi/NPA highly preferred
  • Experience with forecasting, statistical reporting, data analysis, and databases
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ambitious individual with a strong work ethic
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Very strong disposition for precision and accuracy
  • Intellectually curious and highly proactive about suggesting process improvements
  • Compelling desire to learn and grow as part of a sophisticated and very fast-paced working environment – comfortable with rapid change and ability to adjust quickly
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Microsoft Excel (i.e. able to run/write Macros, pivot tables, Vlookup, formulas, etc.)
