Will Gridley connects with his clients' values to create places and spaces that bolster their history while building their future, enjoying the collaborative experience of the design process as much as the outcome itself. He embraces the responsibility to ensure his work moves us all forward while it enriches places and cultures, defines organizations and brands, and impacts everyday life in ways that are both obvious and more subtle. Will’s experience spans broadly across higher-education as well as multi-family, commercial and mixed-use building types. With his specialized expertise in higher-education projects, Will played an integral part in transforming the Harvard Kennedy School from an outdated and disjointed group of buildings into a welcoming and sustainable place for learning. At Georgetown University, Will led the 55H Street Residence Hall and McCourt School of Public Policy projects, spearheading the University’s expansion into downtown DC and setting its trajectory for the future. At Southern Methodist University, Will was intimately involved in the rejuvenation of the Cox School of Business, a sensitive intervention and expansion that unifies a trio of significant campus buildings around a new quad, creating a reimagined face for the complex. Will’s work in higher education includes many additional under-graduate and graduate academic buildings as well as student centers, libraries, lab facilities, fitness centers and strategic planning studies. Will is proud of his many client collaborations that have spanned multiple projects and building types.
Will earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bucknell University and a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University, and has shared his knowledge of building in historic districts in a lecture at the Institute of Classical Art and Architecture. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and a licensed architect in the state of New York.
