Meghan L. McDermott, AIA
Meghan McDermott has been with Robert A.M. Stern Architects since 1997 and has been a Partner in the firm since 2008. Ms. McDermott has been responsible for the design and management of Torre Almirante, a 640,000 gross square foot, 36-story office tower in downtown Rio de Janeiro; 10 Rittenhouse, a 32-story luxury condominium tower containing 150 apartments on Philadelphia's Rittenhouse Square; the LEED Gold Plaza at PPL Center in Allentown, Pennsylvania; Comcast Center, a LEED Gold 57-story office tower with a public winter garden and concourse for Suburban Station in Center City Philadelphia; One Crescent Drive, the first LEED-CS certified Platinum speculative and multitenant office building, and Five Crescent Drive, the North American Operations Center for GlaxoSmithKline, both at the Philadelphia Navy Yard; the 650,000-square-foot One Horizon Center office building and 14-acre master plan in Gurgaon, Haryana, two Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences, in Almaty and Astana, Kazakhstan; and Tour Carpe Diem, a 35-story office building in Courbevoie, France. Ms. McDermott has previously served as the Project Architect for the Torre del Ángel office building on the Reforma in Mexico City.
Before joining Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Ms. McDermott was an Associate Project Designer at Shalom Baranes Associates in Washington, DC, and at Ellerbe Becket, also in Washington, DC. She was a guest instructor and teaching assistant in the Pre-Architecture Design Studio at Syracuse University's program in Florence, Italy. She has presented her project in Rio as a case study at the Harvard Business School and served on a design jury for the Delaware Valley Green Building Council.
Ms. McDermott's work has been published in Architectural Record, Architect, Metropolis, Interior Design, World Architecture News, the Architect's Newspaper, New York, and The New York Times.
Ms. McDermott received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Minnesota and her Master of Architecture degree from Syracuse University. Ms. McDermott is a registered architect in the State of New York and other jurisdictions.
