Residence in Preston Hollow
Located in one of the older residential neighborhoods in Dallas, this house employs a 19th Century English vocabulary of classically detailed brick walls with limestone trim and gently sloping slate roofs. The house is organized around a series of exterior courtyards that extend into the landscape. An axial sequence leads from the square motor court through the centrally-located living room to the lawn and creek at the south of the site. The wings contain the more informal spaces and extensive athletic facilities.
RAMSA Partner Robert A.M. Stern led the design.
