RAMSA Partner Preston J. Gumberich to Present at Tradeline's University Facilities 2018 Conference

RAMSA Partner Preston J. Gumberich to Present at Tradeline's University Facilities 2018 Conference

On Tuesday, May 8, RAMSA Partner Preston J. Gumberich will discuss the new University of Connecticut's Downtown Hartford campus on the panel "A Developer-Driven Model for Renovation, Revitalization, and Expansion of Outdated Buildings" at the Tradeline University Facilities 2018 Conference in Austin, Texas. Mr. Gumberich will be joined on the panel by other members of the project team including Peter Christian, Director of Development & Acquisitions at developer H.B. Nitkin Group; Robert Corbett, Director of Regional Projects & Development at the University of Connecticut; and Stephen Perreault, Senior Project Manager at contractor The Whiting-Turner Contracting Company.

The panel will discuss how the UConn Downtown Hartford campus was achieved with a developer-led team instead of a traditional design-bid-build approach, reducing costs and pressure on resources while providing new sources of financing. The University of Connecticut Downtown Hartford campus restores and repurposes the historic 1920 Hartford Times Building, integrating it with 180,000-square-feet of offices and meeting rooms for academic departments, classrooms, teaching laboratories, student and administrative spaces, casual dining, and social spaces. RAMSA Partners Robert A.M. Stern, Graham S. Wyatt, and Preston J. Gumberich led the design effort. For more information on the project, please click here.
