Robert A.M. Stern and Paul Goldberger in Conversation at 20 East End Avenue

Robert A.M. Stern and Paul Goldberger in Conversation at 20 East End Avenue
Robert A.M. Stern will engage in conversation with architecture critic Paul Goldberger at a Corcoran Sunshine CS / Talk on November 14th at 20 East End Avenue, RAMSA's residential building on Manhattan's Upper East Side. CS / Talks is a speaker series, unique to the world of real estate, featuring some of the brightest minds in the fields of real estate development and architecture.

Paul Goldberger has enjoyed a storied career as an architecture critic for The New Yorker (1997–2011) and The New York Times (1973–2007). Currently a contributing editor at Vanity Fair, he holds the Joseph Urban Chair in Design and Architecture at The New School in New York City and was previously Dean of the Parsons School of Design. The author of dozens of books and essays on architecture, Goldberger led the roundtable discussion that introduces the 2015 monograph City Living: Apartment Houses by Robert A.M. Stern Architects.

Filling out a traditional Manhattan block, 20 East End Avenue carries forward the vocabulary of great New York apartment houses with the special inflection of the East End neighborhood. The massing, detailing, and material palette of brick and stone recall 1920 and 1930s New York residential buildings. 20 East End Avenue has a strong relationship to the street, with a traditional entrance on East End Avenue and a porte-cochère off East 80th Street that leads to a cobblestone-paved motor court with lattice-work trellises, a fountain, and a private entry. The 17-story residential building comprises 43 residences scaled for family living, including half- and full-floor apartments, three duplex maisonettes, and two penthouses. RAMSA Partners Robert A.M. Stern, Paul L. Whalen, and Michael D. Jones led the design effort. For more information, please click here.
