RAMSA Partner Grant F. Marani to Speak at the Australian Embassy in Berlin
Grant F. Marani, AIA, FRAIA, will represent the Australian Institute of Architects' International Chapter Council at the Australian Embassy in Berlin on November 15 at an event hosted by Ambassador Lynette Wood celebrating the World Architecture Festival (WAF).
Mr. Marani's remarks will highlight the achievements of Australian architects working in other countries to be showcased at WAF. He will discuss Australia's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's cultural diplomacy program, Australia Now, which has designated Germany as its focus country in 2017. Mr. Marani will explain how the Institute, through its International Chapter, has been re-evaluating its role in the international arena, becoming increasingly more internationally engaged as the value of the Australian architectural education and accreditation system grow in standing.
The Australian Institute of Architects represents over 12,000 members of the architectural profession in Australia and works to improve the built environment. The Institute’s International Chapter Council provides Australian architects working abroad and international architects working in Australia the ability to become involved with the Institute and maintain their connection with the architecture profession in Australia. The Institute’s international membership currently represents over 550 members from more than 20 countries.
Projects by Australian architects, as well as projects located in Australia, are shortlisted for WAF Awards this year in 14 of the 18 Completed Buildings categories and in 7 of the 11 Future Projects categories. Mr. Marani will present the Immanuel Chapel, shortlisted for an Award in the Religion category, at the Festival on November 17. For more information about his WAF presentation please click here.
