Timothy S. Deal


Timothy Deal, Senior Associate, joined Robert A.M. Stern Architects in 2003. His responsibilities included the design and administration of a private residence and pool house on Lake Michigan that was the cover story of the October 2009 issue of Architectural Digest; an apartment in New York City; a new residence and equestrian compound in Cape May, New Jersey; and Lakeside, Michigan. In the East End of Long Island, Mr. Deal’s projects include private residences in Apaquogue, Wainscot, and East Hampton. Mr. Deal also served as a senior assistant for a private residence in Los Angeles, California. He is currently Project Manager for private residences in Winnetka and Wilmette, Illinois.

Prior to joining Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Mr. Deal worked at Chatelain Architects in Washington, DC, on the design and management of private residences. Mr. Deal also served on the architectural research staff of the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of American History, and at David M. Schwarz/Architectural Services, in Washington, DC, where he worked on the design of private residences and commercial buildings.

His work has been published in Architectural Record, Architectural Digest, and The Washington Post Magazine.

Mr. Deal received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from Kansas State University and a Masters of Histories and Theories from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. Mr. Deal is a registered architect in Washington, DC, NCARB-certified, and a member of the American Institute of Architects. He is a Fellow Emeritus of the Institute for Classical Architecture & Classical America where he served for three years as Chairperson of the ICAA Public Programs Committee, in charge of planning symposia, lectures, tours, and an architectural film series.
