Robert A.M. Stern Architects is an industry leader in the design of buildings that are environmentally sustainable and energy efficient. We find no conflict between our dedication to high-quality design and construction and the goals of efficiency and sustainability. We understand that sustainability is not a style and know how to design responsible buildings that are appropriate in their architectural expression to the communities they serve.

The firm is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council. Our staff and partnership include 25 LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED AP).

We have regular in-house continuing education programs for our staff aimed at building firm-wide knowledge of all aspects of sustainable design. We have developed and continue to maintain a master specification aimed at improving, often at no added construction cost, the environmental sustainability of the buildings we design.

Our projects include:

- the first LEED certified museum in the U.S.

- the first LEED certified U.S. GSA building.

- the first LEED certified Gold corporate headquarters in the U.S.

- the first LEED certified Platinum Core and Shell office building.

- the first LEED certified Platinum business school.

- the tallest LEED certified Gold building in the U.S. upon completion.
