RAMSA’s The Corsair Receives 2022 Palladio Award

RAMSA’s The Corsair Receives 2022 Palladio Award

Traditional Building Magazine has announced that The Corsair, a Robert A.M. Stern Architects' project located on the southern tip of a peninsula just east of Greenwich Harbor, has been recognized with 2022 Palladio Award under the category of Residential Multi-Unit.

The culmination of the RAMSA design team’s efforts, the 14,000-square-foot apartment house offers eight condominium residences ranging from 800-square-foot one-bedroom units to 2,000-square-foot three-bedroom apartments, all with porches sized for dining and entertaining and private underground parking. Sited to favor views to the harbor to the west and Smith Cove to the east, the building is conceived as a large house or inn in the New England Shingle-style tradition, expressed in fieldstone and cedar shakes. Landscaped terraces descend to a waterside promenade.

The 21st annual Palladio Awards competition recognizes 14 firms for outstanding work in traditional design, six in the commercial, institutional, and public architecture category and eight for residential work. All awarded projects were judged to have enhanced the beauty and humane qualities of the built environment through creative interpretation and adaptation of classical and traditional design principles.
