The 7-story Alfredo Salazar Residences, our firm’s fourth apartment building in Lima, Peru, is located at the intersection of Calle Carlos Graña and Calle Alfredo Salazar in a mid-rise section of the San Isidro neighborhood.
Behind a garden wall, a Portuguese limestone base supports distinctive striated gray brick facades punctuated by deep-set limestone-trimmed windows. The main entry along Calle Carlos Graña opens to a lobby with marble floors, oak paneling, and a groin-vaulted ceiling. A corridor connects the lobby to a library and an indoor children’s play area, and a staircase that leads to additional amenities on the lower floor. Upper floors accommodate simplex apartments with duplexes and penthouses at the topmost floors. Two maisonettes are accessed from private entrances along Calle Alfredo Salazar.
The building’s garden courtyard connects the lobby to Pius XII Park. The garden is formed by green walls at south and west and deep arcuated loggias at the north and east. A semi-circular vertical bay of curved glass windows at the northeast corner of the courtyard serves as an architectural focal point and provides striking views diagonally across the park.
