Tradition and Invention documents the first five years of the RAMSA Travel Fellowship, a $10,000 prize awarded annually to graduate students for travel and research. Through essays, maps, photographs, and drawings, the fellows present their trips to Austria, India, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Scotland, Slovenia, and across the United States. The publication includes a foreword by Robert A.M. Stern, illustrated with photography from his travel as a student and young architect, and a roundtable discussion about the fellowship with jury members Melissa DelVecchio, Daniel Lobitz, and Grant F. Marani.
