Melissa DelVecchio, partner at Robert A.M. Stern Architects, participated in the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art’s “In Your Neighborhood” video series, guiding viewers on a tour of the Catskills town of Roxbury, New York.
Roxbury’s unique heritage was shaped by two very different Gilded Age personalities: renowned naturalist John Burroughs and quintessential “robber baron” Jay Gould. Pictured is Roxbury’s Kirkside Park, formerly the estate of Helen Gould Shepard, designed by landscape architect Ferdinand Mangold in the early 20th century.
