RAMSA Partners to host three ULI Spring Tours in April

RAMSA will host three walking tours as part of The 2024 Urban Land Institute (ULI) Spring Meeting. The ULI will welcome its members to New York City starting April 9 for a series of networking events, interactive sessions, roundtable discussions, and small group tours. See our tour schedule, outlined below.

 
Tuesday, April 9, 2024 

Tracing LGBTQ+ Spaces: A Tour of Greenwich Village 

RAMSA Partner Michael D. Jones and official NYC Tour Guide, comedian, and preservationist Kyle Supley will take participants through the significant sites highlighting Greenwich Village's rich LGBTQ+ history. Stops include the historic Stonewall Inn, Washington Square Park, AIDS Memorial, Gay Liberation Monument, Oscar Wilde Bookshop, Gay Street, and the start of the First Pride March. 

Wednesday, April 10, 2024 

Vertical Placemaking within a Historic Urban Fabric: Partnering with Legacy Institutions to Leverage Inherited Context in Morningside Heights 

RAMSA Partner Sargent C. Gardiner, alongside Lendlease, will showcase Claremont Hall, one of the institutions that has established the character of Morningside Heights. The tour will also explore other partnerships that are simultaneously revitalizing the historic urban fabric, responding to the city’s ever-growing demand for housing, and demonstrating the value of vertical placemaking within the neighborhood. 

Thursday, April 11, 2024 

The Evolution of New York City’s Skyscrapers 

RAMSA Partners Paul L. Whalen and Michael D. Jones, alongside Related New York, will explore the high-rise building boom that has transformed New York City's skyline and Central Park South. The tour will visit high-rises in the area that have set records for some of the most expensive home sales in U.S. history but have also set the stage for the supertalls that have joined New York’s skyline in recent years. 

 

The 2024 ULI Spring Meeting aims to “connect with the world of real estate,” with urban developing topics centered around infrastructure, technology, housing, public/private partnerships, and mixed-use development. Stay tuned for a recap of tours and events.
