Kavyashri Cherala to Speak at New York Build Expo

On March 3, 2020, Kavyashri Cherala of Robert A.M. Stern Architects, will form part of the panel discussing "The Climate Change Emergency—Is Sustainable Design Now A Given?" at the New York Build Expo, to be held at the Jacob Javits Center in New York. Joining Ms. Cherala on the panel will be Theodore Liebman, FAIA, Principal, Perkins Eastman; Kerry Nolan, Senior Associate, Beyer Blinder Belle Architects & Planners LLP; Bettina Zerza, AIA, Principal, ZERZA; and Antoine AbiDargham, PE, Chief Engineer for Metro New York, AECOM.

Kavya Cherala is an Architectural Designer at Robert A.M. Stern Architects, where she has been involved in the design of a variety of planning, institutional and commercial projects, including most recently, the St. Joseph County Public Library in South Bend, Indiana. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Cherala served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Columbia University Graduate School of Architecture, Planning, and Preservation. She also previously worked in New York City and Mumbai, where she contributed to design and led management of high-end residential and hospitality projects. Ms. Cherala earned her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Pune and her Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design from Columbia University. She is a LEED Accredited Professional, and an Associate Member of the American Institute of Architects where she serves as the Media Communications Manager for the New York Chapter’s Women in Architecture Committee. She is a Licensed Architect in India.
