Michael R. McGrattan, Associate Partner, has been with Robert A.M. Stern Architects since 2014. While at RAMSA he has worked on academic and government projects including the UConn Downtown Hartford Campus in Hartford, Connecticut and the Virginia General Assembly Building in Richmond, Virginia. Recent projects he has worked on include a mixed-use development in San Francisco, California and a high-rise apartment building on the Upper East Side of Manhattan.
Prior to joining Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Mr. McGrattan worked with Torti Gallas and Partners in Washington DC. While at Torti Gallas, he worked on affordable and workforce housing projects including George Mason University Faculty and Staff Housing in Fairfax, Virginia and MetroTowns at Parkside Workforce Housing in Washington, DC. In addition, Mr. McGrattan worked on Camana Bay, a new town on Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean. Preceding his move to DC, Mr. McGrattan worked with Jorge Hernandez Architect in Coral Gables, Florida on several custom houses as well as the Coral Gables Museum.
Mr. McGrattan received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Miami in 2006 and his Master of Architecture degree from Yale University in 2014. While at Yale he studied under professors Leon Krier and Frank Gehry. In addition to his professional experience, Mr. McGrattan has been a visiting professor at the University of Miami.
Mr. McGrattan is a registered architect in the state of North Carolina.
