Biography


Sungchan Park, Senior Associate, has been with Robert A.M. Stern Architects since 2006. He is presently at work on the Schwarzman Center, a new hub for student life and cultural programming in two historic buildings at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, where he leads the coordination with major consultants and the construction manager. On the Schwarzman Center project, Mr. Park is also responsible for the Building Information Modeling (BIM) setup and execution.


Mr. Park recently led the coordination of the superstructure and overall building envelope design for two new 452-bed residential colleges at Yale University, utilizing BIM. He has also served as lead design coordinator utilizing BIM technology for the 256,000-square-foot Stephen A. Schwarzman College at Tsinghua University in Beijing, and Five Crescent Drive, an office building for GlaxoSmithKline at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. He worked as a design and technical coordinator, including managing the internal and external consultant team, for a corporate training facility and private house in South Korea. Mr. Park served as design coordinator for the Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Residences in Almaty, Kazakhstan; Tour Carpe Diem, a 35-story LEED Platinum office building in Courbevoie, France; and a mixed-use development in Harrison, New Jersey. His responsibilities also included direct coordination of U.S. and international consultants for the overseas projects.


Prior to joining the firm Mr. Park worked with the Rockwell Group and GreenbergFarrow Architecture, both of New York City.


Mr. Park received his Bachelor of Engineering degree in architecture from Kyonggi University and his Master of Landscape Architecture degree from Seoul National University, both of Korea. He received his Master of Architecture degree from Columbia University. He is a registered architect in the State of New York.
