Colgate's Benton Hall Wins 2019 ENR Regional Best Projects Award

Colgate's Benton Hall Wins 2019 ENR Regional Best Projects Award

Benton Hall, Colgate University's career services building, has been honored with ENR New York’s award for the best project in Higher Education/Research for 2019. Designed by Robert A.M. Stern Architects, Benton Hall is Colgate’s only LEED Platinum building. RAMSA Partners Robert A.M. Stern, Graham S. Wyatt, and Preston J. Gumberich led the design effort.

Benton Hall, home to Colgate University's Center for Career Services, sits at the northeast corner of the historic Academic Quad on the University’s bucolic Hamilton, New York, campus. Visitors enter Benton Hall's lower level through an entrance facing Oak Drive; students enter through an entrance on the building's upper level, facing the Quad. Benton Hall, with locally-quarried bluestone and cast-stone accents rising to a slate roof, takes design cues from several classic campus structures, recalling West Hall, Colgate’s first building, and two historic Romanesque Colgate buildings, Hascall Hall and the James B. Colgate Admissions Building. Our firm also designed two residence halls for Colgate, currently nearing completion.
