On the episode, Dan speaks with Stern about his new memoir, the birth of postmodernism, his unlikely friendship with Zaha Hadid, and much more. “As I look in magazines, and what’s going on, young architects are once again too preoccupied with individual self-expression, too obsessed with the role of computer technology, which can liberate form to an extraordinary level, but doesn’t tend to bring along the emotional and physical needs of people,” Stern says, “who are needing to be housed and appreciated for whom they are and given a chance to fulfill their best possible destinies.”
