Ian Spencer

Associate Partner

Ian Spencer, Associate Partner, joined RAMSA in 2015 and has contributed as both a designer and project manager across a wide range of projects, spanning diverse scales and typologies—from private single-family residences to expansive waterfront resorts and major institutional work in the United States and abroad. He brings a strong command of historical precedent and classical design principles to his work, enriching each project through careful research, hand-sketching, and a deep engagement with local context to develop designs that feel both rooted and original.

Ian is currently working on the design of several resort projects in Turkey as well as a museum in New York City. In parallel, Ian is also serving as project manager and designer for multiple international projects including large-scale planning and private residential work in Kazakhstan and a private house in Turkey. His prior project experience includes multifamily residential buildings in New York, China, and Hong Kong; a private residence in China; Edwin’s Place, a supportive housing project in Brooklyn; and the Charles R. Jonas Federal Building in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Ian received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Houston and a Master of Architecture degree from Yale University. He is an active participant in RAMSA’s recruitment efforts and leads the firm’s Yale campus initiatives. Ian is a registered architect in the State of New York.
