Join us for a Zoom presentation by RAMSA Partner Michael Jones about the architecture and history of Central Park South. The talk will highlight the vibrant characters who left their mark on this area, including larger-than-life developers like Harry Black and Steve Ross, visionary designers such as Emery Roth and Dorothy Draper, and influential socialites like Truman Capote. Additionally, the lecture will explore the architectural features of iconic buildings like the Hampshire House, the Hotel St. Moritz, and the Sherry-Netherland Hotel which played a pivotal role in shaping mixed-use, high-rise residential spaces. Michael will also discuss how this historical context influenced the design of three RAMSA projects—15 Central Park West, 220 Central Park South, and 520 Park Avenue.
