Two houses by Robert A.M. Stern Architects—Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Dove Cottage in Lakeside, Michigan—are featured in the new book
The American House: 100 Contemporary Houses, published by Images. The book, edited by Hannah Jenkins with an introduction by Ian Volner, presents a diverse collection of residential designs by leading architects from across the United States.
Las Olas, rooted in the human-scaled architecture of Fort Lauderdale's early twentieth-century Mediterranean Revival houses, is composed of simple, discrete volumes juxtaposed for anecdotal effect, with a sinuous plan that opens oblique views from the principal rooms. RAMSA Partner Roger H. Seifter led the design effort. For more information, please

Dove Cottage, an ancillary residence to our client's weekend house, is a place for guests—particularly children and grandchildren—and a venue for summer musicales; designed to give the appearance of a true cottage, its modest appearance belies its spacious and varied interiors. RAMSA Partner Randy M. Correll led the design effort. For more information, please

The book will be celebrated with a launch party today at the Rizzoli Bookstore. For more information about the book, please
