The Schoenecker Center, a new five-story Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) building at the University of St. Thomas, is a 120,000-square-foot facility that connects to and includes the renovation of the existing 140,000-square-foot O’Shaughnessy Science Hall. The project is designed to support a second phase of construction that will house the University’s School of Allied Health Professions. The new center houses a wide variety of academic spaces for STEM and fine/performing arts students, including: engineering and robotics labs, a newsroom, instrumental rehearsal and storage spaces, choral performance spaces and art galleries, in addition to offices and e-media classrooms. Public spaces include an atrium, a café, and various other interdisciplinary collaboration and social spaces.
