Robert A.M. Stern Architects will bring one of its signature apartment buildings to a site in Kowloon overlooking the verdant Kadoorie Hill residential enclave. Three connected towers will accommodate 175 apartments. The building will address Kadoorie Hill with punched windows in Gascogne beige limestone facades that complement the neighborhood's charming stucco houses. The new building's arrival court carries forward the pattern of private spaces behind garden walls, with high stone walls with stone piers alternating with metal railings, which creates an visual relationship to Kadoorie Avenue while maintaining a sense of privacy. A full suite of amenities for residents of all ages fills out the building's lower floors. Facing Argyle Road, St. George's Mansions, set atop a plinth of parking behind bronze-colored aluminum decorative screens, will stand alongside the restored historic CLP building with its iconic clock tower. The overall color palette is designed to harmonize and complement, rather than mimic, the color palette of the houses on Kadoorie Hill as well as the adjacent CLP Building.
