RAMSA’s Georgetown Capitol Campus Residence Wins SHB 2023 Innovator Awards

RAMSA’s Georgetown Capitol Campus Residence Wins SHB 2023 Innovator Awards

Robert AM Stern Architects’ 55 H Street Student Residence Hall, located at Georgetown University’s Capitol Campus, was recognized with two First Place Innovator Awards from Student Housing Business in the categories of Green & Sustainable Construction, and Architecture & Design.

55 H Street – designed by RAMSA project team of Kevin Smith, Graham S. Wyatt, Will Gridley, and Ross McClellan – offering 476 beds and amenity spaces across 11 floors. Developed in collaboration with American Campus Communities (ACC), this is RAMSA’s second project with ACC and our seventh with Georgetown University. In addition to a residential program for both graduate and undergraduate students, the building includes retail, amenity, and academic space on its lower floors. Seamless incorporation of solar panels into the residence’s facade is one of many sustainable features of this 100% electric, LEED Platinum project.

More than 200 industry experts judged on more than 150 entries in this year’s contest for 28 prestigious awards. The Innovator Awards were presented on April 4, 2023 during the InterFace Student Housing conference at the JW Marriott in Austin, Texas to student housing owners, developers, operators, architecture firms and universities for excellence in student housing development, marketing and operations.
