Description
The architect's own apartment at the Chatham, situated on the west flank of the building, with views to a large private garden and beyond to the skyscrapers of Midtown, was inspired by Hollywood films of the 1930s and 1940s which captured an idealized New York of glamour and modern sophistication. A combination of modern classic furniture and lighting is blended with custom-design soft seating. In this setting, the dialogue between a recollected and rearranged architectural past and contemporary art seems to work.
