Description

This residence, located in one of the older residential neighborhoods in Dallas, employs a nineteenth-century English vocabulary of classically detailed brick walls with limestone trim and gently sloping slate roofs. The house, scaled to accommodate large charitable events, echoes Regency ideals of symmetry, and upholds Robert A. M. Stern’s devotion to balance. The interior design, carries forward the “English Regency sifted through American Federal” architecture, with English antiques complemented by French petit point rugs, Brazilian green slate floors, wall panels portraying Chinese scenes, and carpets of florals and scenes based on 17th-century Russian fragments.
